“The Cooley”…On Tap
The story goes that it all started with a desire to have a crisp and refreshing drink to enjoy with friends poolside.
Then a dream was born.
In the early 2010s, Tom Busch began to fiddle with the idea of making a fruity and delightful drink that he could make in his residence and take with him to the pool where he could relax and enjoy his afternoons. Multiple trials and iterations later, he found the secret combination that he favored the most.
As friends and passerby’s looked on to his new creation, he decided to increase his production so that he could share his concoction with others. As time went on, Tom would begin to offer his friends a family “A little Cooley”. And the name was then given.
As time moved forward, the all familiar phrase of “Wow! This is really good! You should make this for a living!” kept passing Tom’s ear. And so, in the fall of 2017 in an old abandoned cinder block building out amongst the corn fields west of Van Alstyne, Tom Busch opened the doors of Cooley Bay Winery to share his “Little Cooley” to the residents of North Texas.
Multiple variations of flavors have since taken on the mantle of “The Cooley” as well as adding frozen versions, but the original on tap version is still the most popular.
Thinking of visiting Cooley Bay for the first time? The Cooley is a great way to set the stage for a laid back and worry free experience.
Cheers!
